Simply amazed

July 18, 2011

You know those small silent moments, when you can just sit back and relex for a little while? That’s exactly what is not possible with this video, especially when you are watching it for the first time. I must say, at the beginning I expected a calm view minutes… but hell, this is too awesome to stay calm. Such a talent is seldom. Heads… eh, hats off to Joe Edmonds. You made me think cloning might be a good idea after all… ๐Ÿ˜€

3 days gone, high noon for a new post. Sorry, I’m really busy with college these days and will be so in the next two weeks… I hope to improve again afterwards ๐Ÿ™‚

But on to our video. Todays video was filmed in the city I live in. Some officials obviously decided, it was a good idea to replace a crossroads by a roundabout. Over night. What the didn’t think of: A little hill, or something like that in the middle. Someone must have figured, it was cheaper and easier just to paint the circle on the ground, place some signs, done. Well, it proofed easy indeed. But the drivers, used to the crossroads, seem to not really notice, that their way to work has changed over night. However, this is just some. THe others DO notice. What happens can be seen in the video, that has so far reached over one million clicks.
Also, the video has some awesome music on it, a remix of Evan Loitumas Polkka.

A dying city? lol!

On May 22nd, the whole town of Grand Rapids did a lip dub video of “American Pie”. The video features incredible 5000 persons, a major shutdown of the downtown city area and costed all in all 40.000 Dollars – all raised from local sponsors.

About the reasons, the description of the video says:

“This video was created as an official response to the Newsweek article calling Grand Rapids a “dying city.” We disagreed strongly, and wanted to create a video that encompasses the passion and energy we all feel is growing exponentially, in this great city.”

I’d say that was a WIN for Grand Rapids. A big win. Sorry Newsweek, but you loose. What do you guys think?

Back for good… videos

June 12, 2011

It’s been some days since my last post, so here we go again… To open it all back up, here is a stop motion trick movie of a guy, who can’t play the drums or the piano either. So what does he do? He records himself, playing every single drum of the drumset, every single key on the piano and puts that together. The result: Another awesome youtube video and one of my oscars ๐Ÿ™‚

Watch this! Now.

I wouldn’t recommend you to watch the following video, I would force you to, if I so could. You really need to have seen such awesomeness.

Oh, about the video: It shows snubbyj with his PVC Pipe instrument. He has built it by himself (ok, his father helped him) and is now making a career with it. The video is the one which made him famous and went viral, just a bit after the upload. Now he really has a lot of fans – I’m one of them.

… and someone apparently had to much time to spend on it. The result is a huge LEGO-robot-ball-transporting device, which automatically transports tiny balls in circles. No real use, but good for some entertaining minutes. It’s crazy, how creative the creator was about transporting those balls from A to B. There are so many different ways, the almost 8 minutes of the video never get boring.

A new day, a new blog entry: Today it’s takeSomeCrime, probably one of the best dancers I’ve seen. He uses to dance a very special style. It’s not robot dance, it’s not disco, it’s…. fantastic! In this video he is dancing along to Parov Stelars “Catgroove”. Sometimes, he seems like floating on air. And that’s those magic moments I’m searching for.

Normally I would never advertise anything here, but this video is just to awesome to not share it.

Are you a Star Wars fan? I am. And that’s why I love the TomTom advertising for their new voices in the systems. It’s Star Wars voices! The video I’m showing you it’s the task of Dath Vader to give you directions. Also, there is one for Yoda, which is also worth watching (there’s a link at the end of the video)

Now I wonder what Chewbaccas auditioning was like?

Do you know the Game “Portal”? Then you have probably already dreamt about havingย  a portal gun in real life. Wouldn’t it be awesome to place portals anywhere you liked and just kinda beam yourself from and to any place you like? I would so love that…

However, Youtubes famous Freddie Wong (freddiew!) has some time ago made a video about exactly that. I think it’s still one of his best videos and that’s why I’m sharing it on this blog.

Todays video kept me guessing all the time, if that was possible in real life as well. I guess not. It’s just too awesome. But who knows.

To sum it all up: The animated clip shows a giant music machine, that shoots balls at the instruments in order to produce the sounds. But have a look yourself.
